Big Lots plans grand opening

The new West Fargo Big Lots will holds its official grand opening Nov. 5. The event will be at 9 a.m., featuring a ribbon cutting ceremony. Big Lots District Manager Mike Kyler will present $2,500 to West Fargo High School, a gesture the closeout retailer makes in each community it enters.

BUT, for you super shoppers eager to get your hands on the store’s reduced-price merchandise, the store at 1500 13th Ave. E., will soft open Thursday, Oct. 28.

Big Lots hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Big Lots to open in West Fargo

Big Lots, the Ohio-based Fortune 500 company with 1,400 stores across the country, is opening a new store in West Fargo. The store will open Oct. 28 at 1500 13th Ave. E., West Fargo. It’s one of 80 new Big Lots stores opening in 2010.

F-M residents may remember Fargo had a Big Lots store from late 2000 to early 2006. It was closed with a group of underperforming stores, a company spokeswoman said. Its location, in the former Menards buildings east of West Acres, didn’t help any, it seems. The only store still open in that once-filled spot is Savers Thrift Store.
